Classic French Style (in Houston)

The River Oaks neighborhood in Houston was one of my favorite areas of the city.  I loved to go shopping with my friends there on the weekends, and there were some fantastic restaurants and dessert spots there too.  One thing that's a bit of a shame about this older neighborhood is that these days, so many people are knocking down the gorgeous old homes to build mcmansions.  I love that the Havens's, with Kara Childress and Newberry Campa Architects, have maintained the character of this 1933 chateau-style house, and I love the French antique character of the interiors. Classic style together with modern sensibilities--I'll take that over a mcmansion any day.
