On blogging and the future

Most Fridays, I give you an outfit I'd love to wear to dinner, on a date, or an any given casual (nor not!) outing.  Today, however, is a slight deviation from normal because this outfit in an outfit I will actually be wearing this weekend.  Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I'll put it on to graduate from Rice University.
I tried starting a blog several times early in my university career, but I was never able to keep it going.  During my sophomore year, I discovered Tumblr, and that was a welcome distraction and just the kind of blogging I needed.  I love the community there, and Tumblr introduced me to so many "real" blogs that gave me more inspiration to start a new blog at the beginning of my senior year.
My fall semester ended up being much more hectic than I thought it would be, though.  While I was always planning on applying to grad school, I changed my mind about the schools I would be applying to and the process was much more time consuming than I thought it would be, and I wasn't able to keep it up.  Then, in November, I got into my dream school, and while I tried to resume blogging, I found I still didn't have the time.
Over Christmas break, it actually looked like I wasn't going to be able to attend my dream school next year, and I needed a distraction from my disappointment, so I turned back to my little blog, gave it a bit of an overhaul, and started blogging regularly again.  Even when things turned around for the better in the spring and my semester became unbelievably crazy and hectic, blogging was a welcome break from sitting at my desk working what sometimes felt like 24/7.
In the end, I'll be starting my career as a grad student at my dream school, the University of Cambridge, after all next year.  I can't promise that I'll be able to blog with as much regularity while I'm there, but I do promise that I will absolutely try my hardest.  Blogging and the blogging community I have slowly become a part of have been a big part of my life this semester, and it's not a community I want to leave behind at all.
So here's my outfit to receive one Bachelor of Arts degree in history, and to celebrate accordingly afterwards.  Thank you all for following along with me over the past few months.  I cannot tell you how grateful I am to all of you who read my blog.  I hope you all have a very, very lovely weekend, and I'll see you on the other side.
