Baz Luhrmann | The Great Gatsby

I have mixed feelings about Baz Luhrmann's upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby.  That novel is my absolutely favorite book, and there has never been a good adaptation of it, which is disappointing when you look at the treatment that other works like Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre have been given over the years.
Based on Luhrmann's previous body of work, I'm not holding my breath for any sort of faithful retelling of the novel. Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan have the potential to be an excellent Gatsby and Daisy pairing, and I'm excited to see that - Mia Farrow absolutely ruined the 1974 movie, in which Robert Redford was quite wonderful.
This version doesn't seem likely to be as true to the book as I would like, but I don't at all doubt that it will be a visually stunning movie.  The sets featured in Architectural Digest are tantalizing teasers, and I can't wait to see more.
Are you excited about the new Great Gatsby movie?
