I know I'm late to jump on the Girls bandwagon, but I just caught up with the series, and I must say that even though it took me awhile to get into it, I think the show is pretty great.  I watched the very first episode not too long after it originally premiered, but I didn't really understand what the fuss was all about.  It probably took me half the first season to get into it, but by the end of the first season, I definitely loved it.  I've been watching episodes here and there during dinner or before bed when I get a chance (I love that they're only half an hour long), and even though the characters still often seem incredibly self-centered and the nudity does frequently border on gratuitous, in the end, I think she show is incredibly relatable.
I first watched Girls because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about, especially because the characters portrayed are my age or just a few years older, and all of the critics seemed to be talking about how the show was the voice of my generation.  And once I got into it, it does make a lot of sense.  I feel so lucky that I have a plan for the future after graduation, but I have so many friends and acquaintances who have had trouble figuring out what they want to do with their lives, or finding a job in their chosen field, which is not what we were raised to expect at all.  I think the characters on the show can sometimes seem particularly self-centered and unmotivated, but there are bits of truth in that as well.  Girls isn't as sugar-coated as a lot of other television shows are, but I actually think that's part of the appeal.
And did you see the Season 2 finale? I thought parts of it were a bit unrealistic, but oh my goodness, I loved the ending.
Do you watch Girls? What do you think?
